Tattooed Skin
I didn't think about this hair until I got a tattoo. Now, I just want it gone!
Most people don't think about how the hair they live with daily will look on top of their tattoo. Or maybe they think it'll show up just fine, but then start to wish the hair wasn't there only to learn that getting rid of it permanently is a challenge.
Why can't I just get laser hair removal and be done with it?
Unfortunately, laser hair removal and tattoos do not mix well. In fact, it's a sure-fire way to destroy your ink. When fired, the laser causes the ink to diffuse under the skin, distorting the design you spent hours getting.
So am I stuck with this hair forever?
Not at all. Electrolysis is the solution to clearing your tattoo of unwanted hair while safely preserving the artwork. It is the only permanent method of hair removal that works over a tattoo.
I had laser hair removal, but my tattoo still has hair because they didn't do it there.
Electrolysis is perfect for cleaning up what laser could not or did not get!
Will electrolysis affect the color of my tattoos?
It generally has no effect on the color of a tattoo, though there is always the risk of hypopigmentation (a pinpoint-sized lighter spot on the skin).
What happens if hypopigmentation occurs?
Most people are thrilled to get rid of the hair on their tattoos and in the rare case that hypopigmentation occurs, some pinpoint touch-ups by your tattoo artist should fix that.
I'm thinking of getting a tattoo and have hair there I'd like to get rid of first.
I will be happy to consult with you to explain your options based on your situation. We can certainly begin the process of clearing an area before your actual tattoo is done.
